Find out what the library at Lone Star College-CyFair can offer all teens – home schooled, public or privately schooled – at an open house Saturday, Sept. 6 for teens and parents.
Teen librarian Elise Sheppard hosts year-round activities for all teens such as home schooled book clubs, contemporary book clubs for all, technology classes, community service projects, movies, academic support, summer reading programs and more.
Join Sheppard for an open house 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. in the library meeting room 131 on the Barker Cypress campus.
“The open house is open to everyone and no registration is needed. Just stop by,” said Sheppard. “Come for the entire open house or just to the sessions which interest you.”
The open house begins at 10:30 a.m. with information on counseling services including career, disability, academic probation and Summer Bridge Program. Then at 11 a.m., learn about the dual credit and honors programs, followed at 11:30 a.m. with tutoring services. Enjoy a buffet lunch at noon and hear details about Sheppard’s teen programs as well as the opportunity to give input on program suggestions. Then at 1:30 p.m. there will be library and campus tours.
